Rape-supporting Feminists, Trying to Raise Rape Statistics

It came to my knowledge that EU’s committee of Women’s Rights and Gender Equality, and a feminist parliament representative Kartika Liotard  are trying to get porn banned in all of EU. Their reasons for that are described in the report:

They want to “eliminate gender stereotypes”.  And if you read the report, you will see it’s full of typical unscientific bullshit:

“L.  whereas children are confronted with gender stereotypes at a very young age through role models promoted by television series and programmes, discussions, games, video games and advertisements, study materials and educational programmes, attitudes in schools, the family and society, which influence their perception of how men and women should behave and which have implications for the rest of their lives and their future aspirations;”

Oh yes, if we only eliminate all that, people will grow up as mentally androgynous beings, with exactly same sexuality, career choices and desires. Just you wait. Of course Kartika thinks it’s all socialization, what else is to be expected?

“O. whereas young women and men are most affected by pornography’s new cultural status; whereas the ‘mainstreaming of pornography’, i.e. the current cultural process whereby pornography is slipping into our everyday lives as an evermore universally accepted, often idealised, cultural element, manifests itself particularly clearly within youth culture: from teenage television and lifestyle magazines to music videos and commercials targeted at the young;”

Oh, porn can affect men negatively , but not in the direction she’s probably thinking.

“ Calls on the EU and its Member States to take concrete action on its resolution of 16 September 1997 on discrimination against women in advertising, which called for a ban on all forms of pornography in the media and on the advertising of sex tourism;

18. Calls on the EU to conduct research into the links between child pornography and adult pornography and the impacts on girls, women, boys and men, as well as the relationship between pornography and sexual violence;”

If these people’s worldview was actually founded in reality, and not BS they teach in Women’s Studies classes, they’d know porn is sometimes correlated with decreased rape rates, and sometimes it has no apparent effect on them .

But they don’t have educated people in that committee. They aren’t just uneducated, they can be said to have a negative level of education. Hell, I probably know more about gender than them, and would do a less damaging job than them, despite only studying it for less than 2 years. These are the people who have the potential power to greatly affect millions of people. Why are they trusted?

Would a faith healer be trusted to be a good minister of health?

Would an astrologist ever be a good head of the economy department, basing his conclusions on what to do next, on the positions of the planets at that day?

Would a creationist be accepted as the leader of university biology department, making decisions on what the students get to read and what is offensive?

Or would you rather incompetent people didn’t have that much influence on your health, economy and education? Should treatement of what you choose to view in your free time be any different?

  1. Tom says:

    Have you read Christina Hoff Summers book Who Stole Feminism? It documents the insanity of gender studies departments and feminist myth spreading. I think getting the knowledge in that book out there is very effective at combating feminism because if people knew what they where doing and thinking they would cut off funding.

    I don’t know about Europe, but probably the majority of Anglo-American women think exactly like Kartika Liotard. And look like her too, BTW!
